Background

My particular specialisms include creep, stress relaxation and moisture movement of masonry (including masonry with hydraulic lime mortar), and restraint of masonry generally.

I have recently completed two EPSRC funded masonry research projects, one of which involved full-scale testing on the BRE concrete test frame at Cardington) and a third DTI Partners in Innovation project on the analysis of Winterton House, London.

I am also carrying out research into sustainability issues relating to clay brickwork masonry.
