Natural Building Technologies, is launching an ecological and economical silicate paint system. The range can be used internally or externally and, unlike most paints, they actually form a chemical bond to the minerals in the wall or ceiling (rather than just covering them). This makes them incredibly tough and long lasting.
The paint is available in five standard pastel colours with a 150 extra stunning colours available by special order. It has excellent covering properties and can produce both subtle shades and vibrantly coloured finishes.
Based on quartz, the paint is durable, easy to apply, washable, ecologically sound and, because it is so tough, it can be used even in high-traffic areas. The paint has a natural biocidal effect and is non-flammable (to DIN 4102/A 2).
The range can be used over lime or gypsum plaster, as well as on stone, brick, concrete (aerated and standard), course-grained wallpaper and old silicate or lime coatings.
As the paints, fillers and primers are produced entirely from natural ingredients, they have low embodied energy are non-polluting. All of the ingredients and by-products of extraction and manufacture are sustainable, non-toxic, fully biodegradable and not tested on animals.
