Natural clay plain tiles from Eternit have helped a Buckinghamshire housebuilder give a new lease of life to a former builder's yard on the edge of a Conservation Area.
W.E. Black Ltd, a prolific user of Eternit's double-cambered Acme Dark Brindle tiles, has used them on the roofs of 24 two-storey and two and three-bedroomed terraced homes at Wright's Yard in a private cul-de-sac in the affluent village of Great Missenden. In addition to the plain tiles, half-round ridges and granny hips that have been used on the roofs and dormers, the plain tiles were also fitted by Beaumont Roofing on porches to complement the local Buckinghamshire brick that W.E. Black also favours, although in this case he has also used flint as a façade.
Eric Gadsden, managing director of W.E. Black, said: "We use Eternit roof tiles very extensively on our developments because they work perfectly with the local Buckinghamshire bricks and the finished look gives a lovely mature feel to the scheme. They are a big plus for us when it comes to both selling and planning."
