Retroficiency Reports Identification of over 1.5 Billion Annual kWh of Building Energy Savings

Retroficiency, provider of the on-demand Building Efficiency Intelligence (BEI) platform, today announced it has now evaluated more than 350 million square feet of building space and identified more than 1.5 billion annual kilowatt hours of energy savings in just over two years since the company introduced its solution. The company has also added Dr. Joseph Wharton, a principal at The Brattle Group, to its Advisory Board.

Retroficiency enables utilities and energy service providers to drive energy efficiency savings at scale. The BEI platform delivers deep building insights that identify efficiency opportunities in minutes. These insights enable faster and more cost-effective and accurate building targeting, customer engagement, energy auditing, and dynamic monitoring for new opportunities. With market-leading rapid energy modeling solutions that analyze either consumption data or building asset data, Retroficiency can address any commercial building and fully evaluate all efficiency opportunities so the best energy-saving projects are implemented.

Retroficiency continues to work closely with utilities and their program administrators to achieve commercial energy efficiency goals. To further support these strategic efforts, it has added Wharton to its Advisory Board. Wharton specializes in energy industry issues, including economic and regulatory policies of energy efficiency.

“Utilities are increasingly challenged to meet rising, long-term energy efficiency mandates with traditional program approaches. Energy efficiency is the most immediate way to cut energy use, but it is complicated to achieve results across a large portfolio and over time,” said Wharton. “Retroficiency’s robust energy analytics can support the end-to-end process for all buildings and types of efficiency opportunities, a key requirement as utilities need to optimize across a broad set of programs.”

Wharton has worked at major utilities on both the West and East Coasts, as well as for the Electric Power Research Institute and Dun and Bradstreet. In addition, Wharton served as a faculty instructor for the Annual EEI Electric Rate Advanced Course.

Wharton joins an impressive Retroficiency Advisory Board, which includes two-term Governor of New Mexico Bill Richardson, who also previously served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy; Paul Dickerson, who served as chief operating officer of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy; Ron Weidner, the founder of Greenprint Foundation; and Eric Teicholz, a fellow of the International Facility Management Association.
