Interbuild To Showcase Latest Surface Protection Technology

An inventive new system of surface protection, which will save hours of clean down time and guard against damage, is now available to the construction industry. Peelaway Glasstrip and Peelaway Deckstrip are non-hazardous dispersions, made by Northamptonshire-based Spraylat International, which are simply applied by roller or spray and dry to form a tough plastic skin-tight film which resists foot traffic, staining and abrasion.

The coatings will be showcased at Interbuild 2006, the UK's premier construction exhibition, which takes place in April.

Most non-porous surfaces, including PVC windows and glass, bath tubs, flooring and units can be protected by the coatings, which are sure to generate a lot of interest from the variety of contractors and specifiers Interbuild always attracts.

Jon Caswell, Spraylat's Managing Director, said: "Unlike self-adhesive films, the coatings are easy to apply to contoured surfaces and to remove cleanly, leaving no residue. "Peelaway coatings are technically advanced to offer water and UV resistance and may be used externally for several months."

Added Jon: "Getting the Glasstrip product into the construction industry is relatively new but we are already supplying several glazing contractors who work with developers.

"Peelaway Deckstrip is also new in the construction industry but it is already being used extensively in boat building within Europe and the USA."

Spraylat counts The Olympic Games, Formula One, Fairline Boats, Bae Marine Systems, British Nuclear Fuels and signmakers worldwide among its customers. The company - which has recently been awarded the accolade of the government sponsored Smart Award for innovation - is exhibiting in the Paint & Coatings section at Interbuild which is being introduced at the event for the first time. More than 44,000 trade professionals attended Interbuild when it was last held in 2004 and they represented a combined buying power of around £24.5billion.
