Waste Management Scheme For East London

Shanks Waste Services and the East London Waste Authority (ELWA) have announced a joint venture, to be known as “shanks. east london“, that is aiming for recycling targets of 33% by 2016 and to see landfill reduced from almost 90% at present to 35% in the future in the East London area.

shanks. east london covers the four London boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Newham and Redbridge and has the job of disposing of over 500,000 tonnes of waste each year.
