Durapipe ABS Pipework for State-of-the-Art Swimming Pool

Durapipe ABS pipework has been installed in a new state-of-the-art swimming pool complex in Manukau City, Auckland, New Zealand.

The £5 million development project had hygiene and safety at the forefront when considering the pipework requirements. It was important to select a product that can keep the water clean as it is transported to each of the pools, to ensure safe swimming water for visitors to the complex.

As a result, Durapipe ABS pipework from 1/2” through to 8”, combined with 250mm and 315mm was installed for all pool water feed and return lines for the variety of pools across the complex. Specified by the pool designers, Durapipe ABS exceeded all the quality and technical requirements to meet the strict standards demanded by the project.

Working closely with our New Zealand distributor, Asmuss Plastic Systems Ltd. we were able to offer the pool contractor, Walter J Pratt Ltd., several benefits. Pipework supply was a major requirement for the contractor, who requested delivery of the pipework as and when it was required throughout the project. By providing this service, we were able to offer the contactor a more cost effective solution, as it minimised wastage, as well as the benefit of being able to react quickly to problems encountered on site.

James Logan, Sales Engineer for Asmuss Plastic Systems Ltd. commented: “ Durapipe ABS was selected due to its high performance properties and quick and easy installation technique. In addition, Durapipe UK could also offer several benefits to the contractor, in that prompt delivery and correct timing of orders ensured that stock was continually available when required throughout the construction of the development.”

Durapipe ABS also offered added benefits to Mountford Park, in the form of corrosion-free properties, which help to increase overall product lifecycle expectancy and reduce maintenance and replacement costs. The Durapipe ABS range can be used for a diverse range of applications, including chilled water, air-conditioning and refrigeration and food and beverage processing.

Mountford Park is the largest pool complex in South Auckland and comprises lap learners, splash and spa pools.
