Vayyar’s New 3D-Imaging Tool Helps To See Through Cement, Drywall and Other Materials

Vayyar Imaging is a 3D-imaging sensor company specializing in technologies that help see through materials, liquids and objects. Vayyar Imaging recently proclaimed the launch of a 3D imaging tool, WalabotDIY. This 3D imaging tool has been created specifically for DIY experts, construction workers, and home renovators. WalabotDIY offers 'Superman-vision' by enabling its users to see through cement, drywall, and various other materials, so that they can determine the position of wires, pipes, and also rodents' nests. The newly launched 3D imaging tool is exclusively available in the United States and is currently available for the very first time to consumers.

WalabotDIY takes the guesswork out of your next renovation or repair project. It makes all kinds of home repair and renovation tasks easier – everything from hanging a gallery wall, mounting shelving, locating a pesky leak or drilling into a wall without the fear of hitting a pipe or electrical wire. While there are many use cases for Vayyar's 3D imaging technology, one of the highest demands we have had is from the home renovation market where 3D imaging makes a wide variety of tasks much easier.

How WalabotDIY Works

Compatible with all Android smartphones 5.0 and advanced versions, WalabotDIY fixes magnetically to a mobile’s flip side and can facilitate USB OTG. Through Google Play, the WalabotDIY application must be downloaded and a small calibration should be done. After which, walls can be scanned using WalabotDIY and then wall images will be displayed on the smartphone's screen. Users can obtain details about the precise depth of a cut and how far to drill in order to prevent damaging of pipes, objects and wires that are concealed behind walls. The sturdy 3D imaging sensors that are present in the tool allow effortless detection of the depth as well as the location of objects and can easily see through up to 4″ or 10cm of drywall or concrete walls. WalabotDIY also has a sensitivity setting that is adjustable and can be used for optimal calibrations on selective construction projects and renovations. Screenshots of locations can be easily clicked for offline analysis and there are two sensing modes of raw data and pipes available in the 3D imaging tool.

In the future, additional features can be enabled into WalabotDIY using Vayyar's powerful sensor technology. According to the announcement made by the company, additional applications will be available through Google Play and they will be consistently integrated to the already existing WalabotDIY tool.
