Parallel Group is pleased to announce the addition of a new structural engineering division to the firm. Operating under the name Parallel Consulting Structural Engineers Ltd., the division is available to provide consulting structural engineering services either independently or together with the firm’s existing architectural technologist team.
“This is a major development for our firm,” says Malcolm Cairns, Principal of Parallel. “When we began operations back in 2000, we were focused solely on providing architectural technology services to architects, designers, builders, developers and home owners. Our new structural engineering division lets us provide a whole new service.”
Bengt Jansson, an award-winning structural engineer, recently joined Parallel as the firm’s principal structural engineer. With more than 18 years of experience designing architectural building projects, he has worked closely with Vancouver's top architectural firms and contributed to projects throughout BC and around the world.
“With Bengt onboard, we can provide more depth of knowledge for our existing clients and reach out to new clients,” says Geoff Bartle, Principal of Parallel. “We feel lucky to have him heading up our new structural design team.”
The structural division will lead structural design projects with all major building systems and types. The team offers expertise in steel, masonry and concrete structures, and has a special interest in timber and architecturally exposed structures.
