Exhibition of Project Brick

In 2007, the exhibition of the project 'Brick' will be presented as part of the big Rotterdam City of Architecture 2007 show.

Brick is an architecture based project, in which architects, designers and visual artists from The Netherlands and abroad have been asked to develop a new type of brick or come up with a new use for existing bricks.

This project will culminate in an exhibition which, on the one hand, will demonstrate a multi-disciplinary approach to architectural product innovation and, on the other, will make architecture tangible in a challenging, innovative way for a broader audience than simply one made up of professionals. Rotterdam which in the summer of 2007 will be shimmering with architecture, is the place to present Brick.

At the moment the participating architects, designers and visual artists are busy realising their designs. The .ekwc (European Ceramic Work Centre) expects to see a wide-ranging totality of results exactly because of the involvement of all these different disciplines. The experience the .ekwc has with bringing together a variety of disciplines in a workshop setting has shown that mutual inspiration brings individual projects to a higher plane. This will have a positive effect on the outcome of this project.
