H&R Johnson Refresh Kerastar Range

H&R Johnson, the UK's largest manufacturer of ceramic tiles, has refreshed its popular Kerastar range with a wider palette of colours and sizes. The Kerastar floor and cladding tile range provides architects and specifiers with a product to cover almost every possible application, ranging from commercial and business applications, domestic bathrooms and kitchens, through to heavy-duty industrial floors and wet barefoot areas in leisure facilities.

The Kerastar range is now available in 30 colours. The range is supplied in four key sizes and six different finishes. The four sizes are 150mm x 150mm x 8.5mm, 200mm x 200mm x 8.5mm, 250mm x 125mm x 8.5mm and 300mm x 300mm x 8.5mm.

The special performance qualities of the Kerastar range arise from the combination of naturally occurring raw materials and a firing process which replicates the natural geological process of the earth. The use of the highest quality raw materials and modern production techniques results in a completely homogenous product that has excellent physical and chemical properties through the whole body thickness and across all sizes. The fully vitrified porcelain floor and cladding tiles have extremely low water absorption values (less than 0.5 per cent) resulting in products which are not only much harder wearing, but have dramatically enhanced staining resistance properties.

For those areas where enhanced slip resistance is required, Kerastar offers surfaces which includes Rocktop, Suretread, Gripfoot, Discface and Diamond all of which have a “C” slip resistance classification for wet barefoot areas, this enables their usage on pool surrounds, on communal shower floors and other wet barefoot floor areas.

Rocktop is a riven effect slip resistant surface finish with excellent slip resistant characteristics making it suitable for internal entrance reception areas. Diamond finish has a pyramid profile, which has good slip resistance characteristics and an easy to clean textured surface. Suretread finish has a tread plate design surface, which is ideal for wet barefoot applications. Gripfoot has a raised pinhead texture, similar to that used in wet leisure barefoot areas for more than 50 years. Discface gives the best of both worlds being suitable for both wet barefoot and dry soled traffic. Discface is available in two sizes, 150mm x 150mm x 8.5mm and 300mm x 300mm x 8.5mm.
