CERAM Solidifies Its Testing Portfolio

The good news for manufacturers of natural stone products is that CERAM has now added natural stone products to its impressive list of products for which it offers a full range of tests.

With CERAM’s new service, natural stone, whether it is for use as masonry units, paving, roofing or cladding, can now be tested to the relevant British and European standards as well as International and American Standards.

Prof. Geoff Edgell, head of CERAM’s building technology division, commented; “Historically CERAM has always offered tests on clay based construction materials for example, bricks, roofing tiles, pipes etc and this has been augmented in recent years by a wide range of tests on concrete products. Testing may be of a standard nature, when often CERAM is a Notified Test House to the European Commission, a product development nature or bespoke testing and analysis.”

CERAM is also able to offer larger scale tests on assemblages of natural stone for structural purposes such as rain penetration, acoustic isolation etc.

Further information on testing natural stone is available from Lindsay Owen at CERAM on 01782 764310 or [email protected]
