Lightolier Announces that Tangent Won First Place in Lightfair International's Innovation Award 2007

Lightolier, Inc., the leader in interior lighting for over a century, is proud to announce that Tangent won first place in Lightfair International's Innovation Award 2007. Tangent track, the smallest profile line voltage track lighting system available, combines extruded aluminum and clear polycarbonate into a low-profile track system that can be installed in straight or curved configurations and mounts flush to ceilings and walls for the most unobtrusive installation possible. Tangent won Best of Category amongst the track, low-voltage cable and rail system entries in the Interior Luminaires category.

"We're pleased, though unsurprised, that Lightolier's commitment to innovation and design was recognized once again at Lightfair," said Vice President & General Manager of Lightolier's Track Lighting Business Unit Ken Mackenzie. "Tangent showcases Lightolier's signature streamlined look and quality, and its flexibility and low profile appearance fits perfectly with the goal of the Innovation Awards."

Lightfair International's Innovation Awards are juried by a panel of lighting industry professionals. To be eligible, products must have been brought to market during the 12 months prior to Lightfair. Each award has its own criteria:

  • Most Innovative Product of the Year Award - Recognizing the best of the best; the event's highest honor.

  • Technical Excellence Award - Recognizing the best leap forward in lighting technology.

  • Design Excellence Award - Recognizing outstanding achievement in design and application.

  • Best of Category Awards - Recognizing excellence in the individual product categories.
