The Albert Dock Company Announces the Opening of VINEA

The Albert Dock Company is delighted to announce the opening of VINEA, a new wine bar, shop and delicatessen, that will be moving into Britannia Pavilion, alongside PanAm, The Site Gallery, Impressions of Liverpool and Ha Ha Bar & Canteen.

Vinea is a fantastic addition, strengthening the Albert Dock’s position as a vibrant leisure and tourism destination. As part of a World Heritage Site with a unique water-side atmosphere, the Albert is a vibrant and successful eating and drinking destinations. Bars, cafés and restaurants such as Baby Cream, The Pan American Club, BLUE Bar & Grill, Baby Blue, Spice Lounge, NOSH, Est Est Est and Costa Coffee are popular with all ages.

VINEA, Latin for Vineyard, is the brain child of husband and wife team James and Karen McGrory who live in Formby. They spent months researching Liverpool for just the right SITE, ‘’The Albert Dock area was a natural choice for us due to the diversity and mix of visitors, local residents and the business sector. We are opening a wine bar/shop and delicatessen, offering a unique, fun experience concentrating on fine wines of the world from small vineyards which are not commercially available. We are planning to hold wine tasting events, corporate evenings and small wine courses.’’

‘‘On our honeymoon, we travelled to Napa Valley in California and visited many vineyards, we had such a fantastic time taking part in wine and food tasting, all in very relaxed, fun and unpretentious surroundings. We have since travelled to various vineyards within Europe and developed our love of wine further and we are delighted to bring this concept to the Albert Dock’’ James explained.

Joe Edge Director of the Albert Dock Company said ‘Albert Dock Company is delighted to welcome Vinea to the Albert Dock, this marks the first of a number of new tenants, which means that Britannia Pavilion is almost fully let. This is another sign that we are well placed to maximise on the regeneration and developments on and around the Waterfront.’’

Vinea will also be offering cheeses, meats and a selection of breads, olives etc, which like the wine selection, will all be available to drink or eat on the premises or bought in the shop to take away.
