What happens when a grand but disused 114 year old stone building is in the way of progress. Unfortunately they tend to get pulled down but residents of a town in Idaho, USA had other ideas for the 1890 Oneida Stake Academy building. They banded together to move the 1650 ton building a couple of city blocks to it’s new home in the city park.

The current issue of Green Homebuilding Ezine features the story of how the citizens of Preston raised over a million dollars to see the historic Academy building raised onto a specially constructed platform and rolled from it’s crowded site to a majestic new home at the corner of a park.
