TIME for New Urbanism

TIME magazine has published an article on the New Urbanism design movement.

The idea behind New Urbanism is to design cities that stop "suburban sprawl in favor of medium-density towns and neighborhoods where houses, offices, shopping and leisure activities would all be within a walkable space." The result would be that the need for a motor vehicle becomes an option not a necessity. The flow on effect for reducing carbon emissions and improving community health is obvious.
