Design Concepts Turn Aluminium Cans Into Building Materials and Solar Powered Street Lights Mimic Trees

Reuters Technology week review with Fred Katayama this week examines a range of topics that include some environmentally friendly designs and concepts from an exhibition in Israel.

The green design concepts include a street lighting system known as the eco-tree city concept. In this system street lights are designed to look like trees with solar panels for branches. Another concept uses human power to crush used aluminium cans to make small modular tiles to be used as building materials.
