RIBA President welcomes National Centre for Sustainable Community Skills

RIBA President George Ferguson today issued a statement welcoming the call for a National Centre for Sustainable Community Skills. George Ferguson was speaking in response to Sir John Egan's report into the skills needed to develop sustainable communities:

“We are delighted to have played our part in Sir John Egan’s important review, and greatly welcome his call for a National Centre for Sustainable Community Skills. We shall be doing all we can to assist in this and are pleased that the Deputy Prime Minister has asked us to join the Steering Group.

I totally agree that we must work closer together with all others involved in the planning, design, delivery and maintenance of sustainable communities, and on calling for the profession to pull its weight”.
