The Kombi van or Volkswagen Camper captured the hearts of travellers, campers and hippies as the ideal home / vehicle combination. It has now been taken a step in the other direction with a large house being constructed in the shape of a VW Beetle.

The modern open plan house is located in Salzburg, Austria, and has been designed to be energy efficient and outfitted with appliances and technology to further increase its efficiency. The with the open-plan home is packed with technology to make it energy efficient. The house is available for rent at 2,500 Euros (£1,680) per month.
