Hydro is spending four days in Milano with thousands of building industry professionals, to highlight our strong position as a provider of aluminium solutions and as an integral partner in the creation of excellent places and spaces.
Hydro, a leader in aluminium building systems, is one of more than 1,700 companies participating in the Milano Architettura Design Edilizia Exhibition (MADE expo), which is Italy's largest for professionals in the building and construction industry.
This is the second year for MADE in Milano, after 26 years in Bologna.
Hydro's stand features the building systems brands Domal and Wicona, with the emphasis on Domal, at home in Italy and as the country's leading aluminium system in volume terms. Wicona is considered the elite system in Italy for special projects.
Augusto Caporrella, who leads Hydro's building systems unit in the country, says the company's good position "is built on our ability to consistently upgrade our products and services, so customers can select practical and elegant solutions that meet compliance requirements - and get the service they deserve."
High performance - and educational
Hydro's high-performance building applications have played a fundamental role in the construction of many important buildings in Italy.
The ultramodern architecture used by Ferrari in Maranello, and the "zero-impact" buildings in the Macchiabella residential area in Cosenza are examples of the competence that Hydro is delivering.
The systems used in the Ferrari project guarantee heat insulation, and have high-performance gaskets with thermal transmittance values that are compliant to the norm UNI EN ISO 10077-2. This technical aspect was crucial for the realization of the buildings in Cosenza, which, thanks to the use of special façade systems from Wicona, follow the zero-impact formula aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Domal and Wicona is presenting such projects at MADE, and is organizing an educational project for insiders related to the future use of aluminium in the building industry.

Hydro's unparalleled service to aluminium building systems customers in Italy includes a country-wide distribution and logistics network. This network grew last year following the acquisition of Sicily-based Alumetal S.r.l.
The acquisition raised to 25 its number of distribution centers in Italy.
