Penthouse suite features expanded line of SYLVANIA and Traxon LED solutions
Lighting leader OSRAM SYLVANIA debuted its expanded line of professional LED solutions, including Traxon LED Systems from SYLVANIA. Hosted by newly appointed President and CEO Rick Leaman, the event showcased the superior style and function of SYLVANIA LED systems to the lighting design community.
"OSRAM SYLVANIA is leading the transition to LED lighting solutions," said Leaman. "We've expanded our portfolio of LED products and services through our joint venture with Traxon Technologies to provide an even broader array of choices for lighting designers and specifiers."
The company chose an upscale Manhattan penthouse as the backdrop for its lighting design showcase. The suite was illuminated with a variety of ambient, accent, task and decorative lighting installations. SYLVANIA LED experts were on hand to demonstrate each installation and highlight its functionality.
The LED design showcase is the latest in a series of OSRAM SYLVANIA programs to advance awareness and adoption of energy-efficient LED technology. Sixty percent of the company's present sales are energy-efficient products, and this number is expected to reach 80 percent by 2012. Currently, LED technology accounts for 12 percent of OSRAM SYLVANIA total sales. The company invests 15 percent of the LED sales into research and development (R&D).
With the launch of a new LED product family, Traxon LED Systems from SYLVANIA, the company positions itself as one of the leading providers of pioneering and integrated LED lighting solutions. Designed to serve a wide range of applications as turn-key solutions for the industrial, commercial and consumer markets, the partnership expands OSRAM SYLVANIA's established LED capabilities. Traxon LED Systems from SYLVANIA raise the bar for versatility, quality and performance.
Beyond energy efficiency, the flexibility, customization and power of LED lighting make it an ideal solution for today's designers and architects. LED technology is changing the culture of lighting and the way light is used.
To further advance its position in LED technology, OSRAM SYLVANIA has invested in a multimillion-dollar LED clean room expansion in Massachusetts that houses research for solutions that will fuel the company's growth in solid state lighting. Additionally, the company has received awards from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to advance the development of energy-efficient LED applications. OSRAM SYLVANIA has made strides to develop and deliver an expanding array of product solutions to meet the variety of lighting requirements across market segments, such as street lighting, hospitality, retail and residential.
