Fiberon Horizon Decking Satisfies Both Deck Builders and Homeowners

The rich look of tropical hardwoods helps deck builder grow business

For Bobby Parks, a deck builder in the Atlanta, Ga. area and owner of Peachtree Decks and Porches, the tropical look and colors of Fiberon Horizon(TM) decking have been a huge hit.

"For me, the list of products I work with is very short," says Parks. "I trust the science behind Horizon and I know Fiberon will stand behind the product's warranty. That, combined with this realistic wood look, excites homeowners and allows me to expand my portfolio -- have several decks in the works with this product right now."

His first client to select the tropical hardwood look of Fiberon Horizon decking agrees. "I was looking to expand my deck, covering half in a screened-in porch and leaving the rest open," says Kelli Shea Miller, an Atlanta-area homeowner. "I am very environmentally conscious, and that is reflected in my decorating and style tastes. I knew I wanted real ipe hardwood to floor the screened-in portion, but with all the trees in my backyard and the red Georgia clay, I needed something low-maintenance for the rest. Horizon in the Ipe color was the perfect match -- its recycled content fit my environmental needs and its appearance allowed my covered space to flow perfectly to my open space."

Fiberon, LLC, which manufactures composite decking, railing and fencing and PVC outdoor flooring, introduced the multi-chromatic Rosewood and Ipe colors for Fiberon Horizon decking in time for the summer 2009 season. These colors emulate the rich graining of tropical hardwoods such as tigerwood, mahogany and others.

With no organic material on the surface, Fiberon Horizon decking is extremely mold resistant. Its patent-pending PermaTech(TM) surface technology also makes it stain and fade resistant. Fiberon Horizon comes with the industry's first 10-Year Limited Stain and Fade Resistance Warranty, in addition to a 20-Year Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Fiberon Horizon is available in two exotic hardwood colors, Ipe and Rosewood, and is available in four solid colors which include Sand, Brick, Bronze and Slate. Boards can be ordered in square edge or grooved profiles. Grooved boards allow for the optional Fiberon hidden fastener system for smooth-surface deck designs. Fiberon Horizon Plus(TM) railing is the perfect low-maintenance pair to Fiberon Horizon decking.

Fiberon decking solutions are sold to professional contractors and dealers through a national network of distributors.
