AECOM to Provide Construction Management Service for Masdar Institute Neighborhood Development, Abu Dhabi

AECOM Technology Corporation (NYSE: ACM), a leading provider of professional technical and management support services for government and commercial clients around the world, announced today that it has been awarded a contract to provide project, design and construction management as well as construction supervision for the Masdar Institute Neighborhood (MIN) development in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi.

Masdar City is a 1,729-acre, US$22-billion development and the future home of the International Renewable Energy Agency. It is designed to be a carbon-neutral, zero-waste city.

“We take pride in the fact that sustainability is at the heart of every project, so we are delighted to be part of this project,” said AECOM President and CEO John M. Dionisio.

AECOM’s contract fee was not disclosed.

In order to meet its sustainability objectives, the MIN development will use 100% renewable energy sources, advanced design and technology integration of building and infrastructure systems, and a fundamental shift in day-to-day behavior towards maintaining a sustainable community.

The MIN development is adjacent to the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology and will include residential, hospitality, commercial and retail developments as well as parks and playgrounds.
