Lanes to Mercier Bridge Closed to Enable Completion of Construction Work

The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) and the Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ) wish to inform the public about the closure of one of two lanes on ramp 2 (access ramp from La Prairie), as well as the closure of two of three lanes on Highway 138 heading to the Mercier Bridge.

These closures will take place at night from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Friday, November 27 until Saturday, November 28, from 11 p.m. until 7 a.m. on Saturday, November 28 until Sunday, November 29, as well as from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Sunday, November 29 until Monday, November 30.

This preparatory work will enable the completion of the work carried out over the last months on ramp 4 (access ramp from Châteauguay), in order to reopen this ramp to traffic on November 30 around 1:00 p.m.

Of note that this work allowed for the complete replacement of this access ramp's deck by using prefabricated concrete panels. The rehabilitation work on ramp 3 (exit ramp heading to Châteauguay) will start in the spring of 2010. This work is part of the first contract awarded for this project, which will enable the replacement of all access ramps to the bridge located on the Kahnawake Mohawk Territory.
