Kingspan Win Britain's Most Admired Compant Award in the Building Materials + Merchants Category

Kingspan Group plc has won the 2009 Britain’s Most Admired Company (BMAC) award in the ‘Building Materials & Merchants’ category, the second consecutive year that the Irish company has won the award.

The prestigious annual BMAC awards, the UK’s longest running such scheme and now in its 18th year, is unique as award winners are chosen from their rival peer groups and City of London investment analysts. Over 230 companies across the UK and Ireland were assessed for the awards this year, which is run by Management Today magazine.

Companies are judged on nine key criteria: quality of management; financial soundness; quality of goods & services, ability to attract, develop & retain top talent; value as a long-term investment; capacity to innovate; quality of marketing; community & environmental responsibility; and use of corporate assets.

Kingspan Group Finance Director Dermot Mulvihill received the award on behalf of the group from Lord Heseltine, chairman of Haymarket Group, publishers of Management Today, at the 18th annual BMAC awards ceremony in Claridges Hotel in London last night, 1 December.

Commenting Mr Mulvihill said: “We are delighted to receive this prestigious award again, which is a tribute to the dedication of staff and management at Kingspan. These are trying times for the industry in general but we believe those companies that remain committed to innovation and quality will be rewarded.”
