Event to Educate California Home Improvement Contractors on Incentive Programs

A California Building Performance Contractor Exchange themed “Growing Your Business in a Difficult Market” will be presented on January 11-12 in San Ramon and January 26-27 in Downey, California. The events’ goal is to facilitate networking and professional development among owners of firms focused on traditional residential and small commercial remodeling, home improvement, and service contracting.

Panel presentations with successful contractors and industry experts will discuss incorporating energy efficiency initiatives into traditional contracting business practices to leverage federal stimulus, state and utility-sponsored incentive programs aimed at green collar workforce development, energy efficiency, and carbon emissions reduction. These programs could include the recently proposed Home Star and Cash for Caulkers initiatives as well as other Stimulus-related, green-collar workforce development efforts.

The California Building Performance Contractor Exchange is being co-presented by the Building Performance Institute and the Electric and Gas Industries Association with host utilities, Pacific Gas and Electric Company and Southern California Gas. Sponsors include: Sacramento Utility District, Lennox Industries, Rheem/Ruud, and Specialty AC Products/TRANE. Exhibitors include: Ark-Seal, Resource Solutions Group, and Synergy Companies.
