Buckman to Market Flame Seal’s Fire Protection Products in the U.S., Canada and Mexico

Forging an alliance that will bring Flame Seal’s world class, fire protection technologies to a global marketplace, Flame Seal Products, Inc. and Buckman have executed an exclusive distribution agreement whereby Flame Seal’s fire protection products will be marketed and distributed by Buckman throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico, under the global Buckman brand as the Flame Bloc ® product line.

Fire Protection Products

Founded in 1945, specialty chemical provider Buckman serves a wide variety of industries including the paper, water treatment, coatings, leather and specialty chemical formulator markets. With its headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee, USA and revenues of over $500 million, Buckman has a global presence in over 90 countries worldwide, serving customers on every continent.

Buckman has established a powerful reputation for its focus on safety, health, and environmental stewardship, which is a primary factor in this partnership. Flame Seal’s Fire Protection technologies are non-toxic, non-hazardous and environmentally friendly, yet remain at the highest level of fire protection performance in the world. This fits perfectly within Buckman’s focus on “green” technologies, and allows Flame Seal to continue its focus on the most powerful business initiative of all… saving lives and property.

The alliance between Flame Seal and Buckman is a synergistic one that provides tremendous opportunities for both companies, giving Buckman new solutions to offer its customers, and providing Flame Seal a proven marketing and distribution channel for the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The new fire protection product line will be formally introduced to the world at the American Coatings Trade Show in Charlotte, NC April 12 – 15, with personnel from both Companies in attendance.

FROM THE PRESIDENT OF FLAME SEAL:

“Hello Stockholders! I know it has taken a bit longer than anticipated, but this was a huge undertaking for Buckman, and for us at Flame Seal. These last few weeks, we have been almost exclusively focused on the Buckman Contract negotiations, technical training for Buckman’s Top Distributors, planning for the American Coatings Trade show, as well as Flame Seal’s expansion of its production facilities in preparation for the growth we anticipate this year. This, while staying on top of the SPUF foam market, which is growing and getting very demanding as well. (But that is a subject for another release.) THIS is a very special release about the most significant development in our history… period!

“I cannot express our thanks enough, for the commitment, hard work, and extensive attention to detail that Buckman personnel have shown in their work with us on this project. Both sides are excited about our new partnership, and we are all eager to work together to bring Flame Seal’s products, under the Flame Bloc ® Buckman brand, to the North American marketplace.

“It is incredible to have a strong, reputable company like Buckman as a partner that believes in the high value of our technologies, and the huge potential we have in so many markets, especially the multi-billion dollar plastics and paint industries, which are our primary targets. Buckman will also focus on our basic products for wood, paper and fabrics, targeting code requirements, such as the California regulations that call for fire resistant wood materials on all exterior materials on structures. Since California has so many fire risk areas, there is a huge code-driven opportunity there.

“There are too many details and complexities involved in this alliance to discuss in a press release, so I will leave you with the most important basic facts: The exclusive nature of the agreement covers all of North America for all fire retardant coating and additives markets except two: The Spray Polyurethane Foam insulation market, which is assigned exclusively to SPI, and the Leather Fire Protection market. All other markets will be marketed, sold, and distributed by Buckman. We also have a nondisclosure agreement with Buckman through which we hope to “co-develop” new technologies with Buckman’s R&D departments. This should have powerful synergistic effects as well in aerospace, and other high tech industries.

“The possibilities are limitless, as I have said many times, but, now that we have a partner like Buckman, so are the realities!” Michael D. Kiser, President, Flame Seal Products, Inc.

Buckman will be issuing a separate press release regarding this agreement to specific industries and markets in a few days.

Look for information in upcoming press releases about the SPUF insulation market in the next couple weeks, as Flame Seal receives permission from Corporations named in the releases.
