Chemical company BASF specialising in providing raw materials and formulations to the construction industry will be the platinum sponsor of Building Safety Month 2012. BASF has created more than 600 products which can be used for sustainable construction methods which are energy efficient and resistant to disaster.
The Building Safety Month is presented by the International Code Council in the form of a public awareness campaign targeted at families, individual and businessmen to help them understand disaster resistant and sustainable structures. The various products created by BASF include spray-foam roofing systems that help in the resistance of storm winds. This helps in the filtering of storm water in porous pavements. The main goal of BASF is to encourage the use of affordable and measurable construction practices. Interest in Building Safety Month has been growing every year since around 50,000 members are participating in the International Code Council.
