Hitachi Adds a New Random Orbit Finishing Sander

Hitachi Power Tools today announced its new 5” variable speed random orbit finishing sander, the SV13YA featuring an ergonomic palm grip that illustrates Hitachi’s signature “inspire” design.

The SV13YA offers a best in class sanding performance removing significantly more stock in less time compared to competitive models. This new orbital sander from Hitachi is fast and efficient, tackling large surfaces in a flash. Its powerful 230 Watt, 2.0 Amp motor provides an impressive 7,000 to 12,000 RPM to achieve its best in class performance. The ball bearing construction and sealed switch protect the sander from dust, adding durability and prolonging the life of the tool.

The ergonomic palm grip is covered in a soft elastomer material that reduces the transfer of vibration to the operator, while at the same time provides a comfortable hold and prevents slippage. An integrated dust collection bag ensures a cleaner environment, keeps the work surface clear and extends the life of the sanding paper. The sanding paper is attached with a hook and loop pad system for quick removal and application of sanding sheets.

Standing at only 5-11/16” high and weighing only 3 lbs, this compact sander is easy to use for long periods of time and particularly appealing when sanding overhead. The new SV13YA palm sander reflects the aggressive new ergonomic design being implemented by Hitachi Power Tools. Hitachi is pioneering yet another new trend in the industry- tools that incorporate the latest technology with ergonomic design- a look that will modernize the traditional workshop or jobsite.

The Hitachi SV13YA comes complete with five pieces of 5” sanding paper and a dust bag.

It is the ideal finish sander for carpenters and woodworkers who are prepping wood, removing scratches, removing dark stain and refinishing furniture.

Also available is the SV13YB single speed version.
