Caverion’s Building Systems to be Implemented at EOS’ New German Technology and Customer Center

Caverion Deutschland has awarded a contract for implementation of the building systems for industrial 3D printing specialist EOS GmbH to their new technology and customer center. By summer 2014, EOS will be building a modern, sustainable technology and customer center at their company headquarters in Krailling, Germany, which will provide space for over 300 employees.

The building has three stories and underground parking and roughly 17,000 m² total space will house offices with flexible room and workstation solutions, conference and training rooms, laboratories, a production area, and the employee cafeteria and kitchen.

With its futuristic energy concept, the total heating requirements of the building will be covered with renewable energy. This is more than a thirty percent improvement over the target values of the German Energy Savings Ordinance ENEV 2009. This is achieved by optimizing thermal insulation, heating and cooling with groundwater and heat pumps, using the waste heat from the laser sintering systems, and using local heat from the neighboring wood chip plant.
