Three New Publications Available from American Concrete Institute

The American Concrete Institute announces the availability of three new publications:

  • 334.3R-05: Construction of Concrete Shells Using Inflated Forms – This report provides information on the construction of structural concrete shells using an inflated form. Major facets of the construction process are covered, including foundations, inflation, monitoring, and backup systems. Other aspects such as the geometric variations of inflated forms, thickness of polyurethane foam, and mixture proportions for shotcrete are also considered. $61.50 (ACI members $31.00)
  • 506R-05: Guide to Shotcrete – This guide gives recommendations on the applicability of shotcrete for different types of construction and also covers material requirements and application procedures. Equipment requirements are given for both the dry- and wet-mix processes. Shotcrete testing is covered in detail. Emphasis is placed on the competence of the application crew. $57.50 (ACI members $35.00)
  • Symposium Publication 232: Punching Shear in Reinforced Concrete Slabs – This Symposium Publication contains 15 papers on punching shear in reinforced concrete slabs presented at the recent ACI Fall 2005 Convention. It contains a report on issues related to design philosophy, code provisions, contributions of flexural and shear reinforcements, and seismic blast loads, and includes papers on new developments obtained from different research centers from around the world. The aim is to present comprehensive and objective information on the topic of punching shear. $65.50 (ACI members $40.00)
