US$1 million sustainability prize from Alcan

To further support the contributions of the not-for-profit sector to sustainable development, Alcan, in association with the International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF), has announced the creation of the US$1 million Alcan Prize for Sustainability.

The prize identifies and recognizes not-for-profit, civil society and non-governmental organizations for their contributions to at least two of the three pillars of sustainable development: economic, environmental and/or social.

The deadline for entries is 31 March 2004, and the selection of this year’s winner by a panel of “independent, high-level, international and distinguished” judges will take place next December.
