Green Builders' Homes Built to NAHB Green Building Standards

Green Builders, Inc., the leading large-scale community developer of green, sustainable homes in the Austin, Texas area, is pleased to announce each of its homes are built to the stringent Green Building standards set by the National Association of Home Building (NAHB). Green Builders' homes incorporate energy efficiency, water and resource conservation, the use of sustainable and/or recycled materials, and indoor air quality control -- all of which are considered when evaluating a green home. This announcement, in addition to Green Builders' recent ENERGY STAR(R) accreditation on its homes, furthers the company's position as the leading property developer of healthy, cost-effective and eco-conscious homes for the masses.

"As we continue to build homes and develop communities, it's important to create and maintain a high level of expectations while having a low impact on the surrounding environment," explains Clark Wilson, CEO and President of Green Builders, Inc. "The rigorous guidelines created by the NAHB for the Green Building program is an excellent way to help guide builders to develop the most environmentally sound homes while maintaining a level of building integrity for each participant."

Every Green Builders home exceeds the required score to receive a gold rating. Features of the homes in compliance with NAHB's Green Building guidelines include:

  • Lot design prep and development
  • Resource efficiency
  • Energy efficiency
  • Water efficiency
  • Indoor environmental quality
  • Operation, maintenance and homeowner education
  • Minimal global impact

In addition to following the Green Building guidelines, Green Builders will work with third party reviewers to qualify their homes for NAHB's Research Center's National Green Building Program based on the new standards, also announced today. This program will allow builders to certify their homes as green even if the local jurisdictions have no program in place.

Green Builders' energy efficient and green, sustainable homes are priced from the $200,000s to $700,000s and available throughout the Austin area.
