Celestia® by Corus provides finishing touch to designers vision

The high-performance and metallic effect Celestia® by Corus has provided a finishing touch to Toyota dealership Dingles Motor Group’s new, high specification showroom and workshop in Norwich.

Adhering to Toyota brand values, which are common to all dealership buildings, Dingles Motor Group’s new showroom and workshop, covering a total area of 1300m2, features the high specification Celestia in Sirius Silver panelling which harmonises with the reception area’s three large glass, aluminium façades and complementary overhanging brise soleil.

Celestia was specified for the workshop as well as for the cladded areas of the main showroom because of its highly visible location, which meant that it had to harmonise with the high specification finish of the main showroom. The cladding installation was carried-out by local firm AC Bacon Engineering.

Plandescil Consulting Engineers provided the engineering on the project in tandem with the role of developing and realising the concept drawings as originally prepared by the Toyota-appointed designers Space Projects.

Nigel Gates, Senior Technician, Plandescil, says: “A high standard of finish and detailing was key on this project. Plandescil, in agreement with Space Projects, made the specification of Celestia in Sirius Silver in preference to a PVF2 coating as it provided a more durable and scratch-resistant solution. Additionally Celestia provides an aesthetic metallic appeal which aptly echoes the high shine and finish of the cars in the showroom.”

Andrew Bracking, Operations Director, Dingle’s Motor Group, says: “Our new showroom has to be of the highest specification to reflect the quality of product and service that we deliver. I’m delighted with the appearance of the building. The Celestia finish perfectly reflects our brand and its metallic sparkle adds a visual dimension that can’t be achieved in the standard steel coatings found elsewhere in the marketplace.”

Rodney Rice, Product Development Manager, Corus Colors says: “ Celestia is a very popular choice for showroom, retail and corporate buildings owing to its depth of colour, consistency of finish, high specification and durable finish. It is available in a wide choice of contemporary metallic finishes, suggesting the appearance of natural metals. Celestia also comes with the unique Confidex® guarantee from Corus which is offered directly to the building owner minimising future disputes in the contractual chain should a problem occur.”
