Colorcoat Celestia® Reflects Nissan Global Brand Values

Colorcoat Celestia® by Corus, has been chosen by Nissan Group as the metallic finish to aptly reflect its global brand values in its car showrooms across the world.

As part of a recent global branding exercise, Nissan is enhancing and updating all its showrooms to correctly align with its corporate image. Originally inspired by the unique sparkly finish of Colorcoat Celestia, Nissan commissioned cladding profilers Prince Cladding of the Netherlands to work with Corus in establishing their own bespoke colour, whilst retaining the same high performance and durable product. This followed an extensive colour styling and approval exercise to achieve colour hues that perfectly matched Nissan corporate colours, Nissan is now using its own unique finish in showrooms.

Colorcoat Celestia will be featured on ‘brand walls’ in the reception areas of the showrooms and will be rolled-out across all of Nissans dealerships worldwide over the next 18 months. Rodney Rice, Product Development Manager, Corus, says: “The Nissan brand wall is a perfect example of Corus working in partnership with key customers to develop and deliver unique finishes for steel which meet the needs of the end-user.

The strong working partnership between Nissan, Prince Cladding and Corus has led to the creation of a truly unique concept based upon the Colorcoat Celestia product.” Henk Prins, Managing Director, Prince Cladding, commented: “Technical leadership from Corus also proved invaluable on this project and enables us to develop a fantastic finish for Nissan. The unique aesthetics of Colorcoat Celestia with its depth of colour, teamed with the fact that it is five times thicker than rival metallic effect finishes in the market place made it the obvious choice for this new development.”

The panels used to create the walls were based on the Proteus HR composite rainscreen system, incorporating pre-finished steel structurally bonded to an aluminium honeycomb core for exceptional flatness and rigidity. The composite construction of the HR system makes it ideal for the use of lightweight, pre-finished steel, such as Colorcoat Celestia. The brand walls have been designed for internal use but it is possible for the material to be used externally so that future new-build or refurbished showrooms can project an equally strong corporate identity.
