Ben E. Keith Foods Installs Digital Lumens LED System at New Texas Distribution Center

Digital Lumens today announced that Ben E. Keith Foods, the eighth largest institutional foodservice distributor in the nation, has deployed the Digital Lumens Intelligent LED Lighting System in the cold storage areas of its new 475,000-square-foot distribution center in Missouri City, Texas. The new lighting system is expected to save more than 90% of the lighting used by the fluorescent lighting considered, and 75% over plain LED alternatives.

Encos to Use Croda’s Rapeseed-Based Product in Carbon-Neutral Bio-Polymer Binder

A product based on rapeseed has been chosen for use in the binder used in the carbon–neutral masonry units developed by Encos Ltd. The carbon-neutral masonry units are manufactured by binding together secondary or recovered aggregates. The rapeseed-based product, which will be supplied by Croda Europe Limited, will form the bulk ingredient in a proprietary carbon-neutral bio-polymer binder developed by Encos Ltd and known as EncoSol.
