Coachella Valley Homebuilder Wins Gold Nugget Award

Family Development, a Coachella Valley homebuilder, has received the Gold Nugget Building Industry Community Spirit Award for its participation in building the Coachella Valley Children's Center for Olive Crest in the City of Coachella.

"Since our formation, Family Development has placed a strong commitment on working with local charities to share our success with those that need it most-the families of the Coachella Valley," says Vincent Barbato, a partner in Family Development. "Although market conditions have certainly experienced drastic ups and downs, Family Development's commitment has not wavered in the best of times or the worst."

The annual Gold Nugget Awards are the centerpiece of the Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC), the nation's largest regional conference and trade show for the real estate development field. The awards recognize builders, developers, architects and land planners with communities and projects in the 14 Western States and in countries throughout the world.  Ceremonies were held June 10, 2010 in San Francisco.

"When Olive Crest began their search for a partner to help them realize their dream of building the Coachella Valley Children's Center, we knew it was important for us to get involved," says Rudy Herrera, Barbato's partner in Family Development. "Family and home are very important to us, and we are proud to have our name associated with this wonderful facility."

When completed, the Coachella Valley Children's Center for Olive Crest will include the four residential homes, a Community Education Center, a gymnasium and swimming pool. Since 1973, Olive Crest has transformed the lives of over 50,000 abused, neglected, and at-risk children and their families.
