New Grip-Rite ShingleLayment from PrimeSource Building Products

Passersby on Orlando's International Drive may very well be catching a glimpse of the future look of storm damaged roofs.

Grip-Rite® ShingleLayment™, a woven polypropylene underlayment with an exclusive, patent-pending shingle print pattern, eliminates the unsightly "sea of blue tarps" look of temporary roof coverings common to hurricane or storm damaged areas. The product is currently being used on a major construction project in the area.

Grip-Rite underlayment

The re-roofing period after a major storm or hurricane can last for months. Grip-Rite®, the proprietary brand of PrimeSource Building Products, Inc., has introduced a new solution that provides temporary protection to exposed roof decks that is more visually pleasing than a common blue tarp, and long lasting water shedding protection underneath the finished roofing shingles.

ShingleLayment is the only synthetic underlayment on the market with an exclusive shingle print pattern that replaces asphalt felt underlayment and is AC-188 code compliant. Simply put, this underlayment product has met or exceeded all the performance standards and evaluation criteria put forth by several governing bodies of the building materials industry. Consumers will enjoy a weather proof, highly tear resistant product that provides both attractive temporary roof deck protection and a twenty year warranty.

Grip-Rite ShingleLayment is available in two print styles, a standard installer print pattern and an exclusive shingle-look pattern. Both graphic patterns have installation grids printed on the roll. It is also available in two energy efficient colors, desert tan and energy-saving white. The non-skid energy-saving white coating provides an emissive energy saving layer while also reducing the temperature of the work surface. This is especially important in hot, southern climates such as Florida, the Gulf Coast, and Texas.
