NCC Construction Denmark to Build Flats in Arhus

NCC Construction Denmark has been commissioned to build 210 flats in Århus under a contract worth approx. SEK 400 million. The customer is the Danish labour market pension fund PensionDanmark A/S.

NCC has been selected as the general contractor for the Isbjerget (Iceberg) project with 210 flats at the Port of Aarhus as part of the plan by the City of Århus to expand the harbour area. The building complex will consist of approx. 30,000 m2 distributed between residences, basement parking and various service facilities. The flats will meet special Danish energy efficiency specifications (Energiklasse 2).

Construction will commence in December 2010 and the complex will be ready for occupancy at the beginning of 2013.

The order will be booked in the third quarter of 2010.

In addition to NCC, architects from Cebra A/S, JDS Architects ApS and SeARCH BV as well as engineering consultants from Hamiconsult a/s and Tækker Rådgivende Ingeniører a/s will be part of the project.
