In addition, Members of KIBT also have access to the National Building Specification, NHBC standards and Building Regulations updates.
In a recent move, KIBT announced plans to establish links with leading sector trade journals and industry to act as a conduit for new product information, along with news of technology advances and industry innovation. Original published research is another area where KIBT sees itself as a central source of information for students and qualified industry practitioners alike.
"We are very keen to hear from any additional trade sector journals or organisations who can submit information about new products, innovations and technological advances, so that we can provide the most comprehensive and up to date information service possible for our members" said Mervyn Kirk, General Manager of KIBT.
"The upshot of all this activity is that membership is expanding substantially. Access to our knowledge base is, of course, restricted to our Members, whilst they can also take advantage of other resources, such as materials and components testing facilities and a dedicated Help Line with access to technical experts."
"Other services we can offer Members include a "Partner Search" to assist innovators to identify possible collaboration partners and sources of funding to research and develop new products and building systems for industry – once again, a valuable resource for individuals or organisations to get their product to marketplace."
