Wilsonart International announces that all of its Wilsonart® Premium High Pressure Laminate (HPL) products will be sold with full FSC-certification beginning October 1 at no additional charge.
FSC-certification has been achieved for all Wilsonart HD® High Definition® Laminate, as well as other Wilsonart Laminates carrying AEON™ Enhanced Performance and these premium finishes:
- 01-Gloss Finish
- 07-Textured Gloss
- 18-Linearity
- 52-Quarry
- 78-Finegrain
Wilsonart International is now the first laminate manufacturer to achieve full FSC-certification for these products. The company was also first to earn Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain-of-custody certification in the HPL category, ensuring that products marked with the recognizable FSC "checkmark and tree" ecologo were sourced from responsibly managed forests. Through the use of materials from well-managed forests, Wilsonart offers High Pressure Laminate (HPL) manufactured in Temple, TX and Fletcher, NC, USA that provides a responsible solution for green building projects.
“Achieving this standard for our key HPL products is a major accolade. These products will automatically carry the signature FSC Mixed claim,” noted Rajesh Ramamurthy, Wilsonart’s Director of Sustainability. “This certification makes it much simpler for our customers to achieve FSC-certification on their laminate-clad components. It also allows Wilsonart Laminates to contribute the full value to their LEED Certified projects under MR Credit 7: Certified Wood.”
In addition to the standard FSC-certification for specific types, Wilsonart Laminates in all product types will be available as FSC-certified upon request at no additional charge, says Ramamurthy. ”Downstream derogations or exceptions are not required when using these Wilsonart products. This will be especially helpful to customers currently relying on the FSC’s generic derogation, which expires in December 2010.”
