ARUP Wins Award For Use Of IT In Construction

At the Information Age Effective IT Awards ceremony in London last month, Arup was announced winner of the Most Effective Use of IT in Construction award category supported by The IT Construction Forum.

Arup had depended heavily on Microsoft Exchange Server technology for its email network. It was struggling to maintain 32 exchange servers and their associated direct access storage devices, which were both expensive and difficult to recover when they failed. By implementing a new IP SAN solution they have slashed recovery times from 24 hours to 24 minutes. Also shortlisted for the award were the Durkan Group and Skanska UK.

We hope that more of you will enter the 2006 Awards - the prize package includes an invitation to a Leadership Day in the autumn. To find out more see the July issue of insITe or click on The Effective IT awards 2005.
