Flower Window Boxes Launches New Line of Solid PVC Exterior Shutters

Flower Window Boxes, an North Atlanta based manufacturing and millworks company, is introducing a new line of affordable, no rot solid PVC exterior shutters made from Versatex cellular PVC.

These shutters will offer the same look as wood but without the rot and hassles associated with exterior wooden shutters.

Solid PVC Shutters look and paint like wood and can be custom made and hinged. They're designed to last a lifetime.

Wooden shutters generally last 5-7 years before the process of rotting can begin to set in. Unlike wooden shutters which can require maintenance and repainting every couple years, these solid PVC shutters require virtually no maintenance and will hold exterior latex paints for up to 15 years. They are also backed with a lifetime warranty.

They are solid and designed to go on hinges. Since they can also be custom made to fit any window they are ideal for custom, high end homes seeking an alternative solution to wood or vinyl. The customizability and hingeability of the shutters help set them apart from other alternatives such as vinyl.

Versatex cellular PVC is a high quality no rot alternative that has the same look and feel as wood, but without the associated rotting or maintenance. It is typically used as a rot replacement alternative on homes for trim and windows, however, Flower Window Boxes also uses it in all of their exterior home products including window boxes, planters, and exterior shutters.

“Many of our customers are looking for an alternative to wood, but don’t want to go with the vinyl hollow back shutters,” says Matt Buquoi, owner of Flower Window Boxes. “This product offers a no rot alternative to wood that is also high quality. The best part for our customers is that it looks and paints just like wood but it lasts a lifetime.”

This line of PVC exterior shutters is new for January 2011 and all shutters are available to anyone in the continental U.S. from their website. It includes many styles such as raised panel, board and batten, louvers, and cutout designs as well as a few unique choices to choose from.
