Convolant Emirates Announces Joint Venture to Develop Macom Energy Tower Project

Convolant Emirates Group, Abu Dhabi, launches a partnership for a major development in the field of innovative, sustainable technology together with the Building Materials Specialist Chaux de Contern, Luxembourg, and the German subsidiary of MACE, a leading consultancy and construction group.

The joint venture is using the MACOM(R)-product range based on the worldwide patented CeMin 28 Technology for recovery of raw materials. The range consists of MACOM(R)-Fix Oil Binder technology and the MACOM(R)-Modular Building System (including renewables), which achieves zero carbon ratings.

The Convolant Emirates Group is in the process of establishing the International Technology Park in Abu Dhabi, with eight different production lines operating and creating an international competence centre under one roof combining training and education as well as research and development. Mr Louai Mohamed Ali, Director of Convolant Emirates, General Manager of BMS Group International Commercial Investment L.L.C. Abu Dhabi and Private Office H.H. Sheikh Saeed Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan welcomed the new joint venture: "our international Technology Park will support the vision of Abu Dhabi progressing into one of the world's leading green technology centres and industrial locations".

Participating at the World Future Energy Summit in January, 2011 the Group presents concepts of homes with low energy, powered by innovative MACOM energy towers, using both wind and photovoltaic technologies. The constructions are self-sufficient in terms of energy and water management. The Macom Energy Tower is the perfect energy and water solution for countries and communities with infrastructural grid difficulties. That is why these solutions especially are of interest for the African market. The whole system will be built offsite, plugged together onsite with low maintenance costs. First orders are being negotiated.

Eric Kluckers, Managing Director of Chaux de Contern, Luxembourg, one of Convolant's Emirates Group's main partner, welcomes the new joint venture as a further step of his company's involvement in innovative clean technologies: "we intend to install the joint venture's first clean-high-tech production facility in Europe. A crucial element in the concept lies in the production of concrete elements using light re-valued aggregates. We carried out comprehensive material and production tests, along with our equipment supplier HESS Machinery, which were very conclusive. By entering into Convolant's clean technology partnership, Chaux de Contern will become a leading European player and training Centre in this growth market."

Convolant Emirates and Chaux de Contern presented with their partners on January 17th, 2011 the new development at Abu Dhabi trade show organized during the World Future Energy Summit 2011 in the presence of H.R.H. Crownprince Guillaume of Luxembourg, the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade of Luxembourg, Mr Jeannot Krecke and His Royal Highness Sheikh Saeed Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan.

The environmental products and concepts presented at the trade show are the result of the experience and development of all partner companies, grouped around Convolant and are based on various international patents. It's their know-how in both development and production, combined with ultra-modern facilities which put all partners on the path of this project.

The new partnership under the leadership of Convolate Emirates, Chaux de Contern and MACE will be a further contribution to sustainable development in the field of zero carbon housing, especially aimed at countries with a high development of housing needs, combined with a limited availability of both energy and water ressources.
