Rubber-Cal’s Interlocking Floor Tiles Appears on ABC’s Extreme Makeover

Rubber-Cal, Inc. recently participated in a home improvement project for community outreach. The company’s Terra-Flex rubber tiles appeared on the “Lutz Family” episode of ABC’s popular television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The episode aired October 3, 2010 on the ABC Network.

2,000 square feet of Rubber-Cal's rubber flooring tiles went toward the Lutz family's new home.

Kathleen Lutz and her brother John could not afford to care for their six siblings and pay for renovations on their crumbling home in East Setauket, New York. ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition needed a soft, safe surface for the six Lutz siblings living with Down syndrome.

The Rubber-Cal Company donated 2,000 square feet of Terra-Flex tiles to the Lutz family’s new home. The show’s crew used the soft rubber flooring to remodel the main living area and bedrooms.

Rubber-Cal’s Terra-Flex rubber tiles contain eco-friendly recycled rubber and provide soft yet durable cushioning. The interlocking floor tiles fit together without adhesives, making installation simple. The “Gray” tile, as seen in the Lutz house, is one of 5 available colors and gives off a subtle vanilla scent.

Best of all for the Lutz family, individual Terra-Flex tiles can easily be removed and replaced in case of future wear or damage.
