DBIA Honors BT Construction for Excellence in Waste Water Project

Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) recently awarded BT Construction, Inc. (BTC) the 2010 Design-Build Award of Excellence for the Best Project Water/Waste Water Project Under $15 million for the Zone Four 24" Interconnect Waterline Project.

Designed by J&T Consulting, Inc., this high-profile project provides new, updated pipelines, as well as increases critical water flow to fire hydrants, a great benefit for the safety of the community. BTC constructed nearly three miles of PVC and DIP pipeline connecting two water tanks in the City of Thornton. The project was a joint venture between the cities of Thornton and Brighton, enabling the delivery of up to two million gallons of treated water per day to Brighton, utilizing Thornton's distribution system. In addition, this Design-Build project increased the reliability of Thornton's system to ensure adequate service to its existing customers.

Recently celebrating their 30th anniversary, BTC has become one of Colorado's most respected contractors, specializing in water and sewer pipelines, electrical ductbanks, and site development. BTrenchless, a Division of BTC, is the largest tunnel and boring contractor in the state of Colorado, excelling in difficult conditions. BTrenchless offers a vast selection of trenchless pipeline options, including tunnel and auger boring, horizontal directional drilling and microtunneling. This award for the successful completion of the Thornton Zone Four Project is yet another milestone in BTC's long tradition of excellence.
