Increased productivity of students and teachers, a healthier learning environment and reduced operational costs are a few of the many benefits that M Space has created for teachers, parents and children with the new eco-friendly P. IQ High Performance Classroom.
School officials as well as architects and engineers got to experience these great benefits at M Space’s P. IQ High Performance Classroom model open house in Riverside, California in January. This high performance classroom provides energy efficient options to meet the high demands of today’s education market. The green classroom was constructed using green systems and materials such as low and zero VOC materials, recycled steel, recycled insulation, clerestory windows that provide natural daylighting, energy-saving lighting controls and an energy-saving Thermal Displacement Ventilation HVAC system. The P. IQ exceeds the total energy efficiencies in Title 24 by 39.3%.
P. IQ High Performance Classroom
The P.IQ classroom is pre-approved by the California Division of State Architecture (CA DSA). It was also the first modular building design in the country to be certified by CHPS (Collaborative for High Performance Schools). M Space is now part of a charter group participating in the newest green certification process ‘CHPS Verified’, in which the building design and construction are assessed and certified by an independent third-party.
