Jacobs Engineering Group declared that it has been chosen as a consultant by National Roads Authority of Ireland to provide engineering and environmental services.

The company will provide the required design and environmental services connected with the N8/N25 Dunkettle Interchange Improvement system.

The range of work to be performed by Jacobs Engineering in the project include classification of the required design solutions for the interchange, succeeded by the preparation of the mandatory engineering design, formulation of an ecological consequences statement and finally preparation of documents needed for the issuance of necessary legal orders of the scheme. The proposed Interchange Improvement system demands development works to the N8/N25 Dunkettle Interchange to perk up the free flow of traffic through the interchanges placed on the fringes of Cork City. The presently utilized interchanges that forms the intersection for two important national routes N8/N25 is crowded during peak hours resulting in traffic bottlenecks.

This contract with Jacobs Engineering is set for a period of two years. The value of the contract is not divulged by the officials.
