SunPower Selects Fluor for Constructing Solar Power Plant in Arizona
Fluor declared that SunPower has granted the company a contract for building the Copper Crossing photovoltaic solar power plant, with a capability to generate 20 MW of power, spread over 144 acres of a private land located in Pinal County, Arizona that was previously utilized for agriculture purposes.
The proposed plant will deploy the patented SunPower Oasis Power Plant, a fully integrated and modular type of solar power block, to carry out quicker and cost-effective installation of utility-type of solar projects by making the best use of the available land. Each installed solar power block will connect the patented SunPowerTO Tracker with the E19 high-efficiency solar panels, by utilizing pre-structured system cabling and offers a number of sophisticated features. The pre-assembled solar block kits will allow easy and quicker installation while generating high capacity of power for a number of years.
According to Dave Dunning, Fluor Power Group’s President, the project will augment the solar energy portfolio of the company and will bring the renewable energy expertise of the company into the spotlight.
