HighMark Medical Center Receives LEED Green Building Certification

HighMark Investments declared that its HighMark Medical Center has received LEED Gold Certification from the U.S.Green Building Council. The medical center has become the first medical building in Issaquah to receive the certification.

The HighMark Medical Center was built as a community medical facility equipped with features to reduce the negative ecological impact while safeguarding and improving the nearby wetlands and other areas. The building is designed to have energy-saving lighting and facilities to conserve the use of water along with other green practices. The building will also incorporate green landscaping practices, eco-friendly janitorial services, and pest control into their operations.

The members of the project team comprised the architects Lance Mueller & Associates and Bob Fadden, general contractor Rushforth Construction, and the owner of the project HMI. The companies such as ArchEcology, Talasaea and PacLand offered LEED consultation, wetlands and Engineering services.
